AGARTALA, June 5 (TIWN): Keeping an eye on the ensuing by-election to be held on June 27, 2015, the opposition party Congress has declared the names of the candidates for fighting the by-election.
Congress has nominated the name of Ranjit Das to stand from 13-Pratapgarh constituency and for 46-Surma Constituency the party has nominated the name of Nagendra Kumar Biswas.
Interestingly, in this era of 2015 by-election it is seen that, the ruling party has nominated the names of the young candidates whereas the opposition party has declared the name of candidates who are now at their 60’s.
Talking to PCC President Birajit Sinha, he stated that the party is immensely hopeful of their victory in the upcoming by-election.
It may be recalled here that Election Commission of India (ECI) on May 27, had issued an official notification for holding the by-elections at Tripura.
Counting of votes would be held on June 30, ECI notification. Scrutiny of the nomination papers would be on June 11. The ECI on its notification declared that the polling for by elections in the mentioned state would start from 8:00 AM and would continue till 5:00 PM.
The commission has decided that the voter’s identification is mandatory in the aforementioned by-elections at the time of poll. Electoral photo identity card (EPIC) is compulsory for the voters while casting their votes.
It shall be applicable to all candidates, political parties and the state government concerned. It is to be mentioned here that almost all the political parties here in Tripura have geared up for the upcoming by-elections slated to be held on June 27, 2015.
