AGARTALA, June 4 (TIWN): Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in presence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee would flag off Kolkata-Dhaka-Agartala and Agartala-Dhaka-Kolkata direct bus service on June 6, 2015 at 4:00 PM from PMO office Bangladesh, said State Transport Minister Manik Dey on Wednesday. Following the letter from the Government of India on Wednesday State govt. here has decided to send the name of the passengers and the bus number by June 4, ensuring that Agartala bus to remain present during the flag off ceremony on June 6.Talking to the reporters here at the civil secretariat on Wednesday evening, State Transport Minister Manik Dey said, “Tripura Government would send bus at Dhaka on June 5. Besides, following the letter from the Govt. of India on Wednesday the state govt. would have to send the lists of the passengers and their names and passport numbers along with the bus number.”Adding to that Dey said, “Temporarily Tripura govt. would send the 19-seater air-conditioned bus borrowing from the State Tourism Department on June 5.” The bus would start from Agartala on June 5 carrying the same officials who started for Kolkata on Wednesday as a trial run. Some of their names would be reduced from the list, Dey said.A total of two buses from Kolkata and Agartala would remain present on June 6 during the flag off programme, where PM Modi and Bangladesh PM Hasina in presence of WB Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee, would flag off the direct bus service of Kolkata-Dhaka-Agartala and Agartala-Dhaka-Kolkata.

According to the officials, Tripura Govt. on June 1st asked the Govt. of India through a letter whether Tripura would be included in the flag off ceremony; following which the Govt. of India in reply to the letter on June 3 asked the state govt. to make all necessary arrangements of sending a bus from Agartala on June 6.

Govt. of India also asked the state govt. here to send the passengers lists along with the passport numbers and number of the bus.

 Dey said, “Govt. of India on its letter instructed to carry four ‘A’ category daily locals newspapers along with Doordarshan and All India Radio to Dhaka through the bus.” Adding to that Dey also informed, “No reporter will be allowed to carry cameras, mobile phones and other accessories at PMO office from where Modi-Hasina would flag off the direct bus service.”

However, on June 6 PM Modi-Hasina would flag off two bus services including Kolkata-Dhaka-Agartala and another Dhaka-Guwahati direct bus service. Security has been tightened up in wake of PM Modi’s visit to Bangladesh on June 6. WB CM Mamata Banarjee would also remain present during the programme. The flag off would kick a start from 4:00 PM at Bangladesh PMO office.

Dey later said Tripura govt. has been making all formalities ready to participate in the flag off ceremony on June 6. The report would be send to Govt. of India on June 4.
