AGARTALA, June 3 (TIWN): The Madhyamik Examination 2015 results has brought into limelight the poor “educational standards” of the state. The results, declared by Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) president Mihir Deb this morning shown the overall pass percentage very poor (66.41 percent) which broke the record of the last year. The number of students appeared in Madhyamik Examination this year were 47176. Among them 4 students were expelled during the examination time. 2 students had appeared for their Madarasa examinations, whether only 1 student cleared the exam. A total of 923 schools across the state had participated in the examinations this year amongst which 180 from west district, 110 from Gomati district and the rest from other districts of the state. Total number of examination centres rested at 75, whereas total number of examination venues were 138.Though Government claims that Tripura attained high in literacy rate, but the poor percentage shows the reality. While imparting teaching in the class room, one-to-one interaction between the teacher and the student has to be ensured for the sake of evaluation of child’s understanding of the lesson taught. There are reports showing that the results of the examinations conducted at school level were published late. Overall trend of education is very disappointing across the State.

The Tripura Board of Secondary Education was established in 1973 and became functional only in 1976. The main aim of the board is to promote and develop the standard of higher secondary education in Tripura. The students under the board are awarded marks based on a centralized evaluation system, which makes Tripura Board one of the very few in the country to have it.

However the data wise result of Madhyamik in the recent few years was recorded as the following:
