KAILASHAHAR, June 2 (TIWN): In the golden era of Tripura, where dowry is nothing but has become a very prevalent issue, a housewife of 34 years namely Pushpa Shuklabaidya (34) has brutally beaten up by her husband Ananta Shuklabaidya (45) and her in-laws, for three hours continuously on June 2. The incident took place at Bhaggopur, Kailashahar.

Reportedly, it has been said that the couple which had been married before 9 years, had a huge argument over dowry issue on Tuesday morning. The mater went worse when she had been beaten by her husband accompanied by his mother , added fuel to the quarrel between the couple.

Pushpa Shuklabaidya (34), wife of Ananta Shuklabaidya (45) was tied up with a bamboo at around 7 am in the morning and beaten up by both her husband and mother-in-law, Shephali Shuklabaidya for continuously 3hours. Pushpa Shuklabaidya had been critically injured when she was beaten up with wooden logs and had several hits on her head and all over her body.

Later on, hearing the hue and cry in their house the neighbouring women assembled in their house to enquire about the incident and  they informed the Kailashahar Women Police Station about the incident.

Police rescued Pushpa Shuklabaidya from her in-laws house and admitted her to the hospital. Immediately Ananta Shuklabaidya had been arrested in allegation of beating his wife. But Shephali Shuklabaidya managed to escape from the place of incident.

It has been further reported that earlier Ananta Shuklabaidya who was a carpenter by profession allegedly murdered his first wife Anjali Shuklabaidya 10 years ago. Anjali Shuklabaidya was a resident of Chandipur, Kailashahar.  Ananta Shuklabaidya has also been 1 year of jail for murdering his first wife.

On the other hand, the neighbouring women of Bhaggopur, Kailashahar alleged that Ananata was not at all a good man. Although he had 2 daughters, he usually made his wife bound to do illegal business in the area in exchange of Rs. 100.

However, Pushpa Shuklabaidya was bought to the Kailashahar Women Police Station to register a complaint against her husband and mother-in-law. Police is further investigating the case.
