KHOWAI, June 1 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident, a group of thieves thronged into the distribution agency of LPG gas cylinder at Khowai on May 31st late night, and robbed 7 filled LPG gas cylinders .
Reportedly, on Sunday late night a group of thieves broke the lock of the Singhichora PAX limited gas distribution agency, torn all the valid documents of the gas agency, all the gas books and robbed 7 fill cylinders from the agency.
Allegedly, the same group of thieves thronged at the nearby post office, broken the locks and created a mess inside the post office, torn all the necessary documents of the post office, though fortunately could not steal anything from the post office.
Similarly, on the same night the same group of thieves allegedly disconnected the electricity connection inside the mini deep tube well installed centers but also was unable to steal anything from the centre.
However, getting alarm about the chaos at the gas distribution agency, a group of few people from the agency lodged a written complaint with Khowai Police Station and Khowai Food Department. Additional Director of Khowai Food Department Anil Chandra Das visited the various spots and gave assurance to effectively look into the matter.
Khowai police is further investigating the case.
Locals alleged that the theft cases are rising at alarming rate in the state and everyday there is an incident on theft case occurring in the Khowai city. Though there are several complaints lodged in the police station but so far no action is taken to nab the thieves.
They further alleged that the police is showing negligible attitude towards the maintenance of smooth environment in the khowai city. It has been allegedly mentioned by the residents of the area that the thieves are also charged of looting valuable ornaments, along with cash and other belongings from different houses.
