AGARTALA, May 23 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Friday stressed upon to rehabilitate the existing jhumias soon in the ADC villages across the state. Newly appointed ADC Chief Executive Member (CEM) Radhacharan Debbarma and ADC Chairman Ranjit Debbarma on Friday had a courtesy meet with CM at the civil secretariat.
Talking to the reporters after the meeting CEM Radhacharan Debbarma said, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar during the meeting had suggested them to eye on quality education at the ADC areas and to ensure empowerment to tribal areas. CM also stressed to ensure proper drinking water facilities at the ADC villages, said Debbarma.
Besides ADC Chairman Ranjit Debbarma talking to the newsmen at the civil secretariat said that a total of 6000 jhumia families would be rehabilitated soon. However, later CEM and Chairman hoped that the Left front govt. and the ADC would jointly bring a development to the ADC areas.
Asked about any new recruitment of teachers in the ADC areas, CEM Radhacharan Debbarma said that as of now no decision has been taken yet to recruit teachers for ADC schools but would take necessary step with an aim to improve the education system.
Sarkar also inspired Chairman Ranjit Debbarma to work hard for the ADC development using his 12 years experience as a Chief Executive Member, said Debbarma. During the meeting on Friday on behalf of the executive members CEM Radhacharan assured that the ADC holding the hand of the Left front govt. would work for the indigenous people of the state keeping eye on the development pace.
However later CEM Radhacharan Debbarma invited Chief Minister Manik Sarkar to visit ADC head quarter. CEM and Chairman had also met with the Tribal Welfare Minister Aghore Debbarma on Friday at the civil secretariat.
