AGARTALA, May 15 (TIWN): CPI-M party will sit in a meeting on May 16, to decide the structure of the newly formed Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council. In the meeting name of the CEM, EM will be announced. It can be guessed here that, CPI (M) leader Radahacharan Debbarma is to be set as the next CEM of TTAADC replacing Ranjit Debbarma, if party insiders are to be believed. The second most powerful member of the 6th TTAADC after CEM Ranjit Debbarma is Radhacharan, who fought the ADC election from Jirania (ST) constituency in the recently concluded TTAADC election. It is the most preferred name that is rounding in the CPI (M) corridors of Melarmath party office here.It may be mentioned here that Radhacharan, who held the School Education, Sports & Youth Affairs, and Kokborok Indigenous Language Research Department, in the 6th TTAADC Executive Committee was considered as a better choice for the top most post in the TTAADC replacing veteran Ranjit Debbarma.
Ranjit Debbarma contested the ADC election from the Ramchandraghat (ST) constituency, which saw a considerable challenge from the rival IPFT candidate in the election. The result of the 7th TTAADC election came into light on May 6, when the sealed EVMs were opened for counting. However, name of Parikshit Mura Singh is in the long run for the post of EM also.
The first session of the newly formed Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council will be commenced on May18. On the other hand, the newly elected members of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) will take oath of office on May 17.
After that, on May 23 the two days long meeting of CPI-M state committee will begin at Melarmath Party office. During the two days long meeting the CPIM state committee leaders will review the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election results, by-elections in two constituencies Pratapgarh and Surma and forthcoming elections to various civic bodies including Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC). The CPIM leaders are worried about the emergence of IPFT and BJP in the state.
