AGARTALA, May 12 (TIWN): Opposition MLA Birajit Sinha has brought a serious allegation against the concerned authorities of Kailasahar, Srinathpur Gram Panchayat under Gournagar RD Block, Unakoti District for “non implementation of Govt. Projects: IAY House, MGNREGA and Fishery”. However Sinha has taken up the matter with the Joint Secretary of Union ministry of RD Department. Sinha has also attached a copy with the state Chief Secretary Y P Singh recently alleging a serious misappropriation of public money by Gournagar RD Block. Sinha alleged that some of the govt. projects sanctioned by the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Gournagar under Unakoti District for implementation, but not a single project was reportedly implemented. He further alleged that the fund allotted by the Govt. was squandered. The beneficiaries are always selected keeping in view the loyalty to a particular party and proximity, alleged Sinha. Several complain to this effect had been made by the people but surprisingly the concerned administration is adopting a know nothing attitude to their complains, claimed Birajit.

Sinha alleged that a section of beneficiaries were found belongs to Govt. service holders family has been favored with fishery projects. Besides another section of beneficiaries belongs a same family favored with fishery projects.

On yet another serious and most surprising allegation brought by opposition MLA Birajit Sinha, it has been found that some of the beneficiaries under centrally sponsored MGNREGA scheme are dead but they are still paid with their wages and the money is being withdrawn from their account.

Another section of beneficiaries under the same scheme were found working abroad of Tripura but interestingly they are being paid with REGA wages, alleged Sinha.

 However, Sinha unearthing the ‘serious’ scam has written to Union Ministry of RD Department Joint Secretary and State Chief secretary seeking an enquiry to it and take necessary action against it.

Leaving no stone unturned anywhere across the state corruption, scams, misappropriation of public money, taking bribe, illegally acquiring land and other illegal activities by a section of corrupt officers of the state under the regime of ‘clean imaged’ Manik Sarkar has stand tall adding another corruption tainted feather to the 22 stint in power of the Left front govt. here in Tripura.
