Opposition fails to engage polling agents in booths at Khowai

KHOWAI, May 3 (TIWN): With a total of 7.58 voters goes for vote to 28 seats for Tribal council on Sunday, the Khowai sub-divisions along with the entire state kicked off its poll at Ramchandraghat and Halhali Asharambari constituency.

The voting is being held with a total of 25, 235 voters under 12 No. Ramchandraghat constituency whereas a total of 28, 689 voters under 9 No. Halhali Asharambari constituency. There are a total of 75 polling centres under the two constituencies amongst which there are 36 voting centers at Ramchandraghat and 39 voting centers at Asharambari constituency.

However but most interestingly the opposition political party has failed to engage their polling agents in most of the polling booths under the two constituencies. The opposition including IPFT, INPT, Congress and BJP had engaged their polling agents at 25 centers amongst the total 75.

Besides, as of now no untoward incidents has been witnessed under Khowai sub-division with the security personnel comprising of Central Paramilitary Forces and BSF Jawans are patrolling at every nook and corner of the sub divisions while the local police along with the TSR Jawans are deployed infront of the polling centers.

There voters witnessed standing in a long queue since morning onwards to cast their vote. Along with the entire state Khowai sub-division kicked off voting from 7:00 AM on Sunday.
