Security tightened in Tripura to ensure peace full TTAADC election

AGARTALA, May 1 (TIWN): To ensure a violence-free election and to avoid any pre-poll untoward incident, a full-proof security arrangement has been made by the administration, said an official source. To drop infiltration through Indo-Bangla international boundary in state at zero, Border Security Force (BSF) put the border on high alert.

Amid tight security arrangement, State Election Commission (SEC) is all set for conducting Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election, scheduled to be held through EVMs on may 03, next. Besides, troops of BSF and Tripura State Rifles (TSR) are intensifying joint operation including patrolling along the border and keeping a close vigil on the movements of people along the border, said the source.

According to a SEC source, among the total 1071, as many as 79 polling stations have been identified as high sensitive while altogether 360 polling stations have been marked as sensitive. Rest 632 polling stations were announced as general category.

To conduct a free, fair and peaceful ADC election, a total of 21 companies of  armed Central Para-Military Force will be deployed in the polling stations, strong rooms and counting halls while a vast contingent of TSR jawans and police personnel would maintain the general law and order during the election, the source added.

The source further informed that a total of 7, 58, 554 voters have been enlisted in voter list for the ensuing TTAADC election. Among them, 3, 83, 437 voters are male and 3, 75, 117 are female. On the other hand, with the TTAADC election is drawing close, all the political parties are making relentless efforts through different rallies and door-to-door campaigns across the state aiming to hit the best in ADC election. However, the voters would seal the ‘fate’ of the candidates of different political parties in EVMs on May 03, next. The result of ADC polls will be announced on may 06.
