Sabroom, April 29 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Tuesday holding the election campaign at Sabroom said that insurgent groups of the state are directly extending help to the Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT). “Banned insurgents like NLFT and ATTF are helping the IPFT in their activitiesâ€, Sarkar said.
He alleged, “It is no one but the congress by different names like IPFT and INPT are on a move to influence the ADC election this year to create unrest in the state.” Sarkar also said that IPFT is trying to influence the tribal youths with the slogan of Twipraland - a separate state model for indigenous populace of Tripura comprising areas under the jurisdiction of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
Addressing the election campaign rally at Sabroom on Tuesday, Sarkar said that CPI (M) wouldn’t put up with demands of separatism and communalism. “Similar demands were raised in the name of sovereign Tripura earlier. Now they have re-emerged with new slogans. Banned insurgents are helping them”, he said.
Later criticizing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sarkar said, “It is because of the central govt.’s policy that the REGA workers here in Tripura are battling for their deserved wages.” He also said that the central govt. has brought no flow of money under MGNREGA scheme to the state, as a result the REGA workers were found staging protest across the state demanding their wages.
However but it is mentionable here that earlier the opposition congress in regard of the REGA wages blamed the state govt. pointing out, “With the sole aim to top in MGNREGA mandays (by fabrication) and get an award from the Centre would not help the deprived REGA workers to get their wages.”
Congress stated, “If the central govt. is responsible for this, than how come the state govt. could give the wages to the workers on other blocks.” The state govt. with its another new policy has been diverting the mind of the people of the state standing tall with awards from the centre showing maximum mandays here in Tripura, claimed the congress.
