AGARTALA, April 12 (TIWN): Chaitra Sale is on its full swing on the eve of Bengali New year. Thousands of customers throng into different markets, shopping malls to choose the best one for them and their family members. On the other hand, anger brewed among the customers due to the mismanagement of the police administration.
On the other hand, profit margins of sellers will most probably gone up at the impermanent market in Shakuntala Road and other leading markets. The number of customers has increased as compared to last year, according to traders. Small shopkeepers and wholesellers offered discounts on every purchase this season. The business is hot for street vendors, mostly sell plastic items, also.
With Chaitra sale, at HGB Road, the traffic jam has turned worse with autos taking around 5 to 10 minutes to cross the Kaman Chowhumani –Post Office Chowhumani stretch that usually is a minute ride. City police have been trying to crack on all forms of illegal parking on the road. Though Additional policemen were also deployed at the spot to maintain the crowd, but all turns fell and flat.
It is to be mention that traditional middle class families in Bengal really rely on this Chaitra sale for their home needs and daily needed clothes. The customers can easily get home furnishing like curtains, bed sheets for daily use and summer clothes for kids, traditional suti (cotton sarees) than women wear daily etc at good rates and every one can expect variety in this Chaitra sale.
