Udaipur, April 7 (TIWN): A Mega Quiz Competition has been held in Rajarshi Townhall, Udaipur on Monday, to spread the awareness about Comsusumer Righs amongst the students of various schools and celebrated ‘Consumer Rights Day’ or ‘Bhokta Adhikar Dibas’,2015, arranged by the Government of Tripura(Udaipur Subdivisional Officer).
The theme of the quiz was to propagate the real meaning of “JAGO GRAHOK JAGO” among the students. Consumer right is just not a word but various laws have been brought in India to save the rights of consumers. Anybody can protest against any shop keeper or such like organization who tries to make the consumers fool.
Various school students from class 9 to class 12 joined in this mega quiz competition and open quiz was its main attraction. During the whole programme students came to know about Consumer Protection Act, 1986 (is an Act of the Parliament of India) which was enacted to protect the rights of the consumers. This law is to bring equality, quantity, potency, purity, standard and price of goods and services, and to protect the consumer against unfair trade practices.
The young generation would take the first step to protect the consumer rights. This was the message of the whole programme.
