UDAIPUR, March 27 (TIWN): In the sensational murder case of TSR jawan Manik Roy in Atharabola,Udaipur, the Udaipur Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court on Thrusday sent the two accused Banani Sarkar (27) and Rajib Roy (30) to 14 days jail custody. The duo will be produced before the court again on April 8. It is worthy to mention here that police detained victim Manik Roy’s wife Banani Sarkar (27) and one of his friend Rajib Roy (30) on March 16, on charge of murdering the TSR jawan Manik Roy. TSR Jawan Manik Roy (42), S/O- Khirod Mohan Roy of Amtali in Agartala was shot from a 9mm revolver on the main road leading to Gungrai to Atharobhola. He was working in TSR 10BN. He was shot twice on the back of his head and after some time local people saw the dead body lying on the road and informed the Killa police station and immediately Addl SP Gomati Tapan DebBarma, SDPO Udaipur Ratan Kumar Das, officials of Killa police station and a large number of TSR along with two high officials of TSR rushed to the spot.Police found the dead body of Manik Roy lying on the road with a bike lying on other side of the road.
They recovered the body and sent it to Gomati District Hospital. Police opened the tool box of the bike TR01-09356 and from the documents they now suspect that TSR jawan Manik Roy was a resident of Amatali area under Amatali Police Station, Agartala. The black coloured bike was lying by the side of Manik's body. Again two blank shells of 9mm revolver were found from the spot.
However the Police now suspects that the accused Rajib Roy might be the mastermind of the incident, while according the source from police it is revealed that accused Rajib Roy took a help Naresh Debbarma, one of TSR 10th battalion to shot dead the TSR jawan Manik Roy.
