AGARTALA, March 26 (TIWN): Joint Forum of Nationalist Left Democratic Employees Organization (JFNLDEO) called for a general strike on July first week to protest against financial deprivation by the State Govt. The JFNLDEO opposing the left propaganda said, “The state has a budget of nearly Rs. 15, 000 crore at present. Despite this the state govt. here could not introduce the central pay scale for its employees. Besides, the state govt. here has been bemusing the state govt. employees taking owning unexpected strategies. ”Speaking to the reporters here at Agartala Press Club the Joint Convener of Joint Forum of Nationalist Left Democratic Employees Organization (JFNLDEO) Samar Ray slamming the role of the Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha said that such a statement of a minister where he said that the state employees of the state are greedy to demand a central pay scale, cannot be accepted. He alleged, “When Chief Minister Manik Sarkar himself said that after the announcement of the 14th Finance Commission, the state govt. govt. employees will be offered the central pay scale. And in that place Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha taking a 'U" turn announced that the employees will not get the central pay scale.”

The state government is working anti-Constitutionally with completely anti-democratic spirit. “There is no such large scale centre-state crisis in any other states like Tripura”, he said. Speaking about pending DA awards to state government employees, Ray said that the Finance Department lied about financial involvement required for 100 percent DA award. “It will need barely Rs. 400 crore for the purpose while the government is claiming it would need Rs. 1,700 crores”, he added.

Speaking to media Samar Ray said that the Joint Forum of NLDEO is continuing agitation from 2008 on demand of paying salary and allowances according to recommendation of 6th Pay Commission of Central Government. But yet today no solution has been brought to their demand rather than the state govt. bemusing the employees here deprived them from the central pay scale.

However later Ray said that JFNLDEO state committee will held a meeting on April 5 to finalise the date of the general strike.

It is worthy to mention here that earlier Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha said clued that the state govt. is unlikely to offer the central pay scale to its employees as it needs additional fund as sharing pattern of the centrally sponsored schemes is all about to change. Detailing the reason Saha also said that state govt. is on a effort to pay a decent salary to its employees though they would not get central pay scale. The govt. needs additional fund if the sharing pattern of 13 out of 23 centrally sponsored schemes is revised.
