KAILASHAHAR, March 24 (TIWN): At the time when the MGNREGA workers had locked the Panchayat offices, yet another incident of corruption in Panchayat being witnessed under Kumarghat Block. The workers of the Purbo Ratachara Panchayat alleged that their due wage is misappropriated by the leaders of the Panchayat.

Sources informed that on March 16 and 17th payment is done on Purbo Ratachara Panchayat. Sujit Ghosh of Gramin Bank had distributed the wage under the presence of Pradhan, Prabeen Rudra Paul and Upapradhan Liyakot Ali. But at the time of payment, though actual payment is enlisted on the paper, but the workers are given half payment. It is to be mention that more than two hundred workers are providing the payment.

In showing protest against this BJP Yuva Morcha organized meeting at market place. In the meeting, Morcha had given ultimatum of 48 hrs to refund the wage of the deprived workers.  Otherwise they will lock the Panchayat office on Thursday. In future various other measures will also be taken against them. On the other hand, being informed about this, Prabeen Rudra Paul and Liyakot Ali now adopted new measures to abstain the worker to take any steps. They roamed to different houses of the workers and paid them few amount and signed an agreement, so that they cannot create protest movement.

It is to be mention that taking the advantage of his connection with the ruling party, different leaders and officials of the Panchayat was siphoning off money since long time. in the name of executing different development schemes.
