AGARTALA, March 20 (TIWN): In the upcoming TTAADC Election, CPIM party terrified by the emerging of Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura. For the second time, after the year 2000, TTAADC election has snatched away the sleep of the heavy weight leaders of the ruling party.

Because the time had changed and now the people of the hilly regions had the better knowledge to cast their valuable vote in favour of the person or party who will bring the security of food, clothes and shelter for them. It is also known from the sources that, to discuss the strategies of the election and to decide the name of the candidates for the upcoming election, the CPIM State Committee meeting will perhaps to be scheduled in the last week of March or the first week of April.

In the mean time, IPFT is confident of winning the election by single majority vote. The leaders of the party told that their main demands are direct funding by the Centre and uniform empowerment of the tribal councils. They also demand transfer of land rights and all departments to the tribal council, including the higher education department. The party had already started developmental works in hilly area villages that are deprived of civic amenities. The indigenous tribes of those remote villages are deprived of their fundamental rights since 2 decades of Left Front regime. In a recent past, the indigenous tribes were distributed land patta by sub division administration.

While CPIM party also tried heart and soul to left no stone unturned, Tripura marching forward in the rural Tripura especially in the ADC areas to mark its election edge by inaugurating several office buildings, school buildings, arranging basic facilities for the indigenous people across the state to bring them under the banner of the CPI (M). Besides, according to the political analysts, ADC election drawing near might have brought another tense time for the left front govt with its toll in corruption and scams in the block level. When block level corruptions has already standing tall in the state, on the other hand CPI (M) might be in a long run to retain its clean image that has already been strained with corruptions. It is to be mentioned here that a section of the people of the state might have been awaken up to the corruptions and scams under the regime of the left front govt. Not only that the construction of houses under Indira Abas Yojna, Distribution of Patta, creation of work under MGnReGA scheme and various other measures were adopted by the CPIM Cadres to stage their victory.

Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) Act 1979 was passed by the Indian parliament after a series of democratic movements launched by the Indigenous people of Tripura, under the provision of the 6th scheduled of the Indian constitution. The principle objective behind setting up the Autonomous District Council is to empower the Indigenous people to govern themselves and also to bring all round developments of the backward people so as to protect and preserve their culture, customs and traditions. But it actually came into being from 18 January 1982 and later it was upgraded under the provision of the 6th schedule to the Indian constitution with effect from the 1 April 1985 by the 49th amendment to the Constitution of India.
