AGARTALA, March 20 (TIWN): The next hearing of Bishalgarh MGNREGA RD Block multicrore scam will be held on March 26 at Bishalgarh Sub-­divisional Magistrate Court (SDJM). All the accused persons including scamster Bimal Chakraborty will be present before the court on March 26, said an official of Sipahijala police administration here today.According to police the two other FIR named accused persons, Debprasad Nandi (GRS) and Mita Malakar (Junior Engineer) are still at large. As per confirmed sources, Debprasad Nandi (GRS) has taken shelter in Bangladesh and Mita Malakar (Junior Engineer) has taken shelter in Guwahati.The BSF personnel’s are trying their best to arrest Debprasad Nandi and the police are also trying to arrest Mita Malakar, said police. But till now Debprasad Nandi (GRS) and Mita Malakar (Junior Engineer) are still at large.According to sources, bigwigs behind Bishalgarh multicrore scam are now trying their best to release Bimal Chakraborty and other accused, so that their names will not be burst out in open.

 But their wishes are not fulfilled due to the strict attitude of the High Court and the lower courts. Everytime, the bail plea of the prime accused Bimal and others are rejected by the Court.

The investigation of multicrore Bishalgarh scam is progressing very slowly due to high level political influence as BDO Bimal was Chief Minister's close aide; apart from that Bimal has  three powerful brothers, DYFI Secretary Amal  Chakraborty, SP Security Kamal Chakraborty, Shyamal Chakraborty (CM's childhood friend from Udaipur).

Bimal Chakraborty and few others are captured but most of the accused persons of multicrore scam in Bishalgarh RD Block are still at large. Even, no strict action has been taken by the police administration rather showing frame drama in the name of raid. As a result, a question is being raised among the public, whether the state government will take any stern action against the then BDO Bimal Chakraborty including other accused persons or not? Police are still continuing a drama in the name of investigation under the direction of Melarmath. The accused persons are in safe custody as they are close to Melarmath and some of the ministers of state cabinet. And police can't take any proper step against them unless Home Ministry gives police free hand. Unfortunately police are doing as per instructions given from higher officials but still they are blamed quite often for doing nothing.

The internal audit report of Bishalgarh RD block exposed misappropriation of government funds of Rs. 2,22,21,964 without executing works against work orders issued under MG NREGS, PDS, TFC etc, purchase of bricks from suppliers without receiving bricks resulting in non execution of works, generating mandays of Rs. 4,06,89,117 utilized unauthorized funds towards material cost made to other people depriving job card holders etc, doubtful execution of work of Rs. 26.47 lakhs, misappropriation in MG NREGS, distribution of poly tea nursery plants etc.

Asked about the possibility of getting bail order for scamster Bimal, “If the court starts custody trial, there is no probability of getting bail during the trial otherwise Bimal’s bail plea is likely to be agreed by the court reportedly after the completion 180 days of arrest, said police.

However only hope for Tripura people lays with future CBI investigation which would unearth nexus of ruling party functionaries and scamster BDO Bimal Chakraborty.
