AGARTALA, March 18 (TIWN): After a major censure faced by the CNG filling station at Agartala TRTC complex, Krishnanagar, the High Court recently issued a show cause notice to the state govt. and its departments involved with setting up of the filling station, for the replacement of the CNG station. The HC division bench under the Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice S.C. Das recently after hearing the Writ petition filed by the locals of Krishnanagar issued the notice to the state govt. The locals of Krishnanagar filed the writ petition with the HC demanding to ensure security at the area. According to the locals, the people of the entire area has been suffering from lack of security, noise pollution, environmental pollution and massive traffic push, after the CNG filling station was set up at the TRTC complex area.CNG filling station at TRTC complex, Krishnanagar was set up, inspite of the Tripura Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) had put a ban on CNG station in TRTC area.Writ petition filed by the locals, and headed by Advocate Puroshottam Roy Barman and assisted by Lawyer Kaushik nath and Samarjit Bhattacharjee.

However, later moving against the setting up of the CNG gas filling station at the complex, the locals recently filed a writ petition with the High Court. Following which the HC division bench of the Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice S.C. Das issued a sho cause notice to the state govt. and its department involved in setting up of the gas filling station. Since after the setting up of the gas filling station, the deprived locals has filed several complaints with the Transport minister and TPCB Chairman, but no fruitful solution was brought yet today.

It could be know that the TRTC under the banner of the state govt. has selected the TRTC complex area for setting up of the gas filling station, but the state Pollution Control Board has put a ban on it. However it is mentionable here that, so that the concerned road at Krishnanagar is much narrow and is a daily busy road, on the other a large number of three wheelers and other vehicles could be witnessed standing on a long queue at the road side to fill up gas from the gas filling station situated at the TRTC complex. And this has been resulting the locals and the pedestrians to suffer at large. Besides, the loud noise of the gas filling station and environmental pollution has been causing major suffering to the locals residing near by the gas filling station.

However, following this the locals residing nearby have filed several complaints earlier with the Transport Minister and the TSPCB demanding for the replacement of the gas filling station. But no fruitful solution was brought yet today.

Besides, most interestingly the mandatory system of examining the used gas cylinders at the gas filling stations after every 3 consecutive years has not yet started at the state here. But it is mentionable here that as per the Central Govt. Gas Cylinder rules 2004, it is mandatory to examine the used  gas cylinders at the gas filling stations after every 3 consecutive years.
