UDAIPUR / AGARTALA, March 18 (TIWN): The on-going rail line extension work at Udaipur Poshchim Khilpara triggered a massive havoc among the villagers, with the villagers suffering from the worst condition of the existing road, and the farmers suffering from a loss of their agricultural land. And most surprisingly after the deprived villagers staged protest on it, the rail authority lodged FIR with the police against them. However this has again brought the villagers today unified under the protest banner demanding for the construction of new road.Thousands of farmers on Tuesday alongwith the common villagers of Udaipur Poshchim Khilpara staged a sit-in protest demanding for the construction of new road at the area.The villagers alleged that ,authority due their negligence has cut the water pipeline also during the work. And these are resulting in water leakage at the area and the road has got damaged. Beside the water leakage has brought scarcity of water at the area, villagers alleged.

According to the villagers the on-going rail line extension work has brought a major effect to the existing roads of the area as well as the agricultural land of the concerned farmers. The worst condition of the road at the area is leading the villagers to suffer daily while this has become a major hurdle for the villagers to travel through the road. Beside the farmers has also been facing a major loss as their agricultural land has been affected at large due to the negligence of the rail authority, alleged villagers.

However following this the villagers on Tuesday staged a road blockade protesting it, and later getting an assurance from the rail authority they had withdrawn the blockade, but most shockingly the authority later at the evening lodged an FIR with the police against the 5 protestors.

However, such a surplus role of the authority has triggered havoc among the villagers and has brought them today under the banner of protest. The villagers today demanded for the withdrawal of the FIR illegally lodged against them and for the construction of new road at the area soon.
