AGARTALA, March 16 (TIWN): The ruling CPIM Government is adopting all possible steps to raise their victory flag in the upcoming TTAADC Election and Zilla Parishad Election. Commission. The upcoming ADC election and Zilla Parishad election in state seems to be understated by a section of political fraternities. On the contrary, this might have been an erroneous state of mind, if a bird’s eye is views is kept on the 2018 assembly election amidst the ever changing political polarization. And the same is substantiated by the lessening relevance of the first largest political party of the state and the uprising of the other backed by the ruling party of the nation.

Thus the ADC election may be proved to be decisive and the Congress could have turned its dismal destiny around, by registering a marginal performance, if not a moderate one, at least. Though the left parties have already taken on the field and the same is being observed when one hears the speeches of the Chief Minister in the party conferences, when the lion’s share of minister’s speech consists of ADC election.

To win the upcoming elections, the ruling Government lefts no stone unturned. They are adopting all possible measures to win the elections in order to exist their position at Tripura. They even indulged in clashes with other political parties to remain as a number one party in the State. Recently, on yet another prepoll violence a section of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state wing workers were allegedly attacked by the CPI (M) cadres y at Belonia restricting their membership drives.

Tripura marching forward in the rural Tripura especially in the ADC areas to mark its election edge by inaugurating several office buildings, school buildings, arranging basic facilities for the indigenous people across the state to bring them under the banner of the CPI (M). Besides, according to the political analysts, ADC election drawing near might have brought another tense time for the left front govt with its toll in corruption and scams in the block level. When block level corruptions has already standing tall in the state, on the other hand CPI (M) might be in a long run to retain its clean image that has already been strained with corruptions. It is to be mentioned here that a section of the people of the state might have been awaken up to the corruptions and scams under the regime of the left front govt. Not only that the construction of houses under Indira Abas Yojna, Distribution of Patta, creation of work under MGnReGA scheme and various other measures were adopted by the CPIM Cadres to stage their victory.

In the last two ADC polls in 2005 and 2010, the CPMled Left Front had made a clean sweep of all 28 seats in the council where two more members are nominated by the governor on the recommendation of the state government. In the 2008 and 2013 Assembly polls, the Left Front won all but one of the 20 constituencies reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST). Recently Chief Minister Manik Sarkar recounted the historical background of setting up the ADC. “The first Left Front government had set up the ADC in January 1982 and after the Centre had amended the Constitution in August 1984, the ADC was passed to the more powerful Sixth Schedule from April 1, 1985. The Left parties had struggled for the ADC all along to protect the interests of the tribal communities.” The uninterrupted 22year stint in power seems to have taken a toll on the financial transparency of the Left Front administration in Tripura. Besides, it is also to be mentioned here that the CPI (M) and its left front govt. is now on a long run to save it’s so called clean image during the ADC election.
