Kailashahar twin murder case: Culprits sent to 14 days jail remand

KAILASAHAR, March 10 (TIWN): The accused who were arrested on charge of twin murder case at Kailasahar were sent to 14 days jail remand on Monday. The four accused were produced before the CJM court on Monday after the completion of their 14 days jail custody. It is worthy to mention here, two bodies were recovered adjacent to a bridge at Mohanpur under Kailasahar police station on February 10. The duo was identified as Anjan Deb, resident of Kalikapur and Pallab Debnath of Kajirgao.

According to the govt. lawyer Purabi Debnath, sister of Pallab Debnath is the mastermind of the murder, as she had hired atleast there to kill her brother for their ancestral property. The accused person who were arrested are Numan Miah, Nawaj Shariff, Jamir Ali and deceased Pallab’s sister Purabi Debnath. They were booked in connection with the twin murder.

The lawyer also said that after the charge sheet is produced before the court than the four accused person are likely to get life term imprisonment or hang to death. The police filed the case under the IPC Act – 302/102/34

After the preliminary investigation, police suspected that the duo was killed somewhere else on the very night and later the bodies were placed to Mohanpur. It is mentionable here that in protest of this twin murder, Unokoti district Congress and CPI-M on the next day of the murder incident called 12-hour strike and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
