Agartala, March 2 (TIWN): A delegation of congress party met state election commissioner, S.K. Rakesh at secretariat. They claimed that in the draft electoral roll published there are lots of mistakes.

To rectify the mistakes the commission should give additional 20 more days. Spokepeson of Congress Harikrishna Bhowmik in a statement said that the time given for claim and objection is very  short. Many genuine voters have been omitted out, it is not possible to include the names due to the short span of time. He alleged that at many places  when people went to bring  forms of claims and objection were nto given,The booth centres were cordoned off by cadres of ruling CPI(M) parties. The ruling party has started irregularities from the draft electoral itself only, if the  roll is not rectified thanTTAADC elction would be a black day in our  democracy said congress spokeperson.

Meanwhile the opposition Congress had announced earlier that it would fight the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election alone and would not have any tie-up with other parties.
In the last TTAADC elections held in 2010, the Congress had an alliance with Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura.
The
Left Front had swept the tribal council elections last time and secured all the 28 seats. In the 30–member council two seats are nominated by the state Governor. The election for the council is due in May, this year. The TTAADC constitute two-third of the state territory and is the home to tribals who form one-third of the state population. The council came into being in 1987 under sixth schedule of the constitution to safeguard the interests of the tribals.
