KHOWAI, February 19 (TIWN): Newly elected PCC president Briajit Sinha today admitted that the Congress was facing tough challenges and immediate corrective steps needed to be taken to boost the sagging morale of the workers.
Taking to TIWN today at Khowai congress bhavan Briajit Sinha said that the organization has to be strengthened and morale of the workers needed to be boosted. People oriented decisions need to be expedited.
Congress has become weak in the state (Tripura) and the country and a big struggle will have to be launched to strengthen it. Work has already been launched to bring an improvement," he said.
Birajit Sinha has called upon the party cadres to rededicate themselves to strengthen the party by exposing the misdeeds of the CPIM led state government and roping in all those who left the party on different reasons.
We have to strengthen the party by bringing more number of people to the party fold. The party must be fortified from booth level. Congress is an ocean and those who left the party are not comfortable in other parties, Birajit Sinha said.
The uninterrupted 22 year stint in power seems to have taken a toll on the financial transparency of the Left Front administration in Tripura. Corruption in implementation of rural development schemes continues unabated. There is a state government of Tripura eats up all the money which comes from the central government for development, he alleged.
