Total 104 persons went missing during 2014-15 FY; 85 traced: CM during Assembly session

AGARTALA, February 18 (TIWN): During the Financial Year (FY) 2014-15, a total of 104 persons went missing from the state Tripura, amongst whom at least 85 has been traced and was brought to home town, said Chief Minister Manik Sarkar during today’s assembly session replying to the opposition bench. Beside, sidelining the issue of the girls trafficking incident here at the state CM said that recently no such information has been brought with the department. He further mentioned that the minor girls trafficking incidents has been found maximum under Belonia Police Station. And in regard of suicide and missing cases of the state the Tripura police getting the support of the police from abroad has been dealing with this, Manik Sarkar mentioned.

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today replying to the question of the opposition MLA Ratan Lal Nath at the assembly session mentioned that a total of 104 has been found went missing from the state Tripura during the financial year 2014-15, and amongst them a total of 85 has been traced and brought to hometown. Adding to that Sarkar mentioned that amongst the 104 missing people, 56 were male and 48 were female. On a reply to the question of Nath, in regard of the reason for the missing of the people from the state, Manik Sarkar said that during the investigation at least two reasons  has been found that lies behind the missing cases, a section of people of the state go abroad in search of job without informing the family members, and another section of youths getting involved with the love affairs goes missing from the state, said Sarkar today during the assembly session.

Adding to that CM said, amongst the missing people maximum has been brought to their hometown, while Nath opposing the statement of Manik Sarkar mentioned that the number has been increasing and at least 3 to 4 people goes missing every day from the state.

 Replying to another related issue of the minor girls trafficking incidents at the state raised by the opposition today CM Manik Sarkar said that during the investigation of such cases maximum girls trafficking cases has been found under the Belonia Police Station followed by others across the state. Recently the department has no information related to girls trafficking cases, mentioned CM Manik Sarkar. Adding to that Sarkar on a reply to Nath’s question said that a social awareness has already been created to restrict such incidents. Nath today in this regard questioned that what steps does the state govt. has taken so far to identify the racket involved with such illegal business of trafficking minor girls of the state, while Sarkar mentioned that the police along with the state govt. is fully focusing on the investigation of such cases.
