IOCL likely to take initiative to increase the production capacity of Bishalgarh Bottling Plant: Recent production Capacity estimated to 83 metric ton

AGARTALA, February 17 (TIWN): Indian Oil Corporation had taken initiative to strengthen the capacity of Bishalgarh Bottling Plant. In a written reply raised by the MLA Asish Saha at Assembly session, Food and Civil supplies Minister, Bhanulal Saha informed this.Minister further informed that, in order to improve the capacity of Bishalgarh Bottling Plant and to solve the crisis of LPG Gas, State Government had already sent application to Union Oil Ministry and Indian Oil Corporation. IOCL had also sent their consent to extend their helping hands and assured that the work will come to force within recent few months.

It is to be mention that the recent production capacity of this bottling plant is 83 metric ton. Plans are in progress to improve the capacity to 450 metric ton. Other than that IOCL also looks after to supply hundred percent LPG Gas for domestic purpose. In regard of this, the Corporation had taken initiative to construct another bottling plant to supply domestic gases.

The Tripura government will start cracking down on black marking of domestic LPG cylinders in the state. At present 3.40 lakhs registered LPG consumers have an average need of 2,900 MT of cooking gas on a monthly basis. Average requirement of LPG cylinders stand at 2, 04326 currently, The Bishalgarh bottling plant in Sepahijala district is currently meeting 86 percent of the requirement and the rest 16 percent was supposed to be supplied from Silchar bottling plant. The Department laid stress in a recent meeting with all major gas agencies to ensure 100 percent home delivery to individual consumers. “We are hoping home delivery would help reduce malpractices and off­ grid trading”. The minister warned that strict punitive actions would be taken against anybody found guilty of conducting errant practices with LPG cylinder distribution at the end of the probe.
