 Vacant posts in School Education Department reaches to the toll of 5,000: Unemployment problem still prevailing as a major problem in the State

Agartala, February 17 (TIWN): 5,000 posts are still vacant in School Education Department. In a question raised in the Assembly session, Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty informed this. Still now, present status is 44, 704 and 39, 637 are still working- Minister further added.

However, the tenure of the teachers for five years in Sarba Siksha Abhiyan was completed. Till now, there are 2443 Post Graduate Teachers and 2389 Graduate teachers.  While, Tripura government demands working round the clock to provide employment for the unemployed youths of the state’. But the scenario is completely reversed. In order to save their position, Tripura government is not against introducing unemployment allowances for the unemployed youths of the state and the government will look into the issue if the financial position of the state improves’, said Chief Minister.

The state government has gathered the information of unemployment allowance, where four to five states of the country are now providing such allowances to their unemployed youths, adding that the state government’s priority is to create new posts and fill up vacant posts in the different government Departments. Tripura has now 6.20 lakh registered unemployed youths as per the statistics of the Employment and Manpower department.

In case of Sarba Siksha Abhiyan, regarding graduate teachers of five years teaching experience, the salary package Graduate teachers would be Rs18, 986 while the teachers without completion of five years would be given Rs 12203. Block Resource Person (BRP) and Cluster Resource Person (CLP) would receive Rs 15764 and Rs 12203 as per the new order.

Tripura education department was established with the aim of enhancing the academic scenario of the state. Later, the department of education was further divided into three sections namely Education (school), Social welfare and Social Education Department and Education (higher). The state government is making every effort for spreading education even to the grass root level. The compulsory and free education scheme launched by the government provides education to the students within six to fourteen years of age.
