Agartala, February 16 (TIWN): A two-day refresher training programme for paralegal volunteers was inaugurated at Agartala Press Club here today.
The training programme is organized by the Committee for Legal Aid to Poor (CLAP) in collaboration with Tripura State Legal Service Authority (SLSA) and MAP with the support of Department of Justice, Union Ministry of Law and Justice.
In the inaugural session, Welcome and keynote addresses were delivered by Bhawani, CLAP and secretary of SLSA- Dhiraj Debbarma respectively. The training design was shared by the Member Secretary of SSLA- B Palit.
As part of training programme, a group discussion on different topics (sharing experience) was held in between the team observers of CLAP and MAP along with member secretary.
In the question-answer session, case study presentation and problem solving advice were given by Advocate Debasis Saha, Sudip Sutradhar and Daliya Saha respectively.
Besides, skill building and hands on experience- practical guide to organize legal aid clinic, legal awareness camp, client counseling, record keeping and meditation, Lok-Adalat and plea bargaining will be presented by the member secretary of SLSA- B Palit.
In the second day of the training programme, a session on gathering evidence to build a case- the use of Right to Information Act will be conducted by Advocate KN Bhattacharjee while vice-chairperson of Tripura Commission for Women- Manika Dutta Roy would address a session on Women, Child and Law.
A presentation on Welfare Legislators and Social Security Schemes will be displayed by advocate Paramatha Datta in the closing part of two-day long training programme.
