AGARTALA, February 15 (TIWN): The Agartala-Dhaka bus services were resumed after a week-long suspension due to month-long political unrest in Bangladesh.According to an ICP source, though the political turbulence triggering panic among the passengers of Bangladesh to avail Dhaka-Agartala bus services, altogether 22 passengers of Bangladesh have arrived in the state by availing bus services through Akhuara check-post on Friday while 17 passengers left Agartala for Kolkata via Bangladesh on Saturday."Due to the political violence in Bangladesh, the operators are unwilling to run the bus services between the two countries. The bus service will remain operational on tomorrow if the unrest situation of Bangladesh becomes favourable for bus servicesâ€, said the source.The bus service is expected to resume in full-swing after the violence atmosphere in Bangladesh returns normal, the source added.According to the source, there is very less problem for the goods carrying trucks, which enter in state from Bangladesh through Akhuara check-post. “As many as 186 goods carrying trucks have entered in the state on Saturday. Among them, maximum numbers of heavy vehicles were loaded with stone and cementâ€, the source said.
