KAMALPUR, FEB. 15, (TIWN): The tradition of reluctant behavior with the common people as well as the start of proceedings after several hours of stipulated period continues at Kamalpur Post Office. Almost every day, the office proceeding starts at around 10-45 am instead of the stipulated 9 am. And some of the staffs who directly interact with commoners remain reluctant to serve the public duly. And the Postmaster seems to be mere onlooker.

Kamalpur Post Office serves to a large area in and around the sub-divisional headquarter of Kamalpur. Mainly for tasks like PLI (Postal Life Insurance) and RPLI (Rural Postal Life Insurance), Money Order, Registered Posts, IPOs (Indian Postal Orders) and savings account people from different areas throng into the office. Many employees, businessmen, housewives and youths prefer post office as the proceeding is scheduled to be start from 9 am and they can easily perform their duties after completing the tasks at Post Office.  But for last several months, the most of the employees who do the direct interactions with people never join office before 10-30 am. Only the Postmaster and few other staffs come to the office at scheduled time. But they cannot handle the public related issues and so the commoners have to wait for a long time to resolve their tasks. Even some have to come to the Post Office thrice or more times for the same job. Mysteriously, even after several complaints from the part of the public, the Postmaster fails to control his staffs. The public grievance has risen to such an extent that, without early intervention of the higher authority, any unprecedented incident may occur at any time.
