AGARTALA, February 14 (TIWN): “The country has been gaining momentum by framing anti-people policy, and by making a path way for the foreign investment here the Modi-led NDA govt. is now eyeing to bring danger for the people of the nation”, said Chief Minister Manik Sarkar. CM was giving his reply to the debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s Address made on 6th February. Sarkar said that there lies no difference between the then Congress and the BJP govt. here. “The congress here in Tripura has been playing a role of a silent spectator, inspite of raising its voice against the anti-people policy”, alleged Manik Sarkar.

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar replying to the debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s Address made on 6th February, said that when the people of the nation has been rising their voice and staging a movement against the anti-people policy of the central govt., on the other the opposition here in the state Tripura has been playing a role of a silent spectator. Laying a stress on the recent amendment of the labour act at the center, Mr. Sarkar claimed that the amendment of the act has brought a major hurdle for the labours here in the nation. “The act will work against 80% to 88% labours of the nation” Sarkar claimed.

The Tripura Chief Minister also criticised the Central government for following the pro-capitalist programmes of the previous Congress-led government. Alleging that the Modi-led NDA govt. at the center has created a corporate world and has made a path way for the foreign investment at the nation, Mr. Sarkar said that the central govt. is leading the nation to a danger zone.  CM Manik Sarkar said that the govt. at the center has amended two act – Labour act and land acquisition act acting on behest of the corporate sector and influential capitalists. He said there lies no difference between the then Congress and BJP at the center in terms of financial sector.

Besides, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar alleged that various parts of the country have witnessed serious communal clashes ever since the Narendra Modi government took charge in the Center and these incidents were the fallout of a vicious campaign let loose by the RSS that India should be converted into a Hindu Rashtra. Mr. Sarkar said that there was no difference in the economic policies and programmes implemented by the previous Congress-led UPA and by the present BJP-led NDA regime. “People should isolate both the Congress and the BJP and work hard for forging unity among the Left and democratic forces,” he said.   

However, Sarkar further said that the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government at the Center is proving to be a total failure like its Congress-led predecessor in controlling the rise in price of essential commodities.
