AGARTALA, Nov 22 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Saha on Saturday visited 7 years old girl Dipanwita Pal’s house who died due to sunstroke after she was forced to stand under the sun for long even after she complained about the sickening health at Khudiram Bose school. No prompt action was taken by the state Education Department after her death. A report was submitted to the chief minister by the education department but what was found in the report, it has not been revealed.
Talking to media, Saha said, he sought a report and initially also got a report about the whole incident.
However, he added that at any cost, the girl can not be brought back.
The deceased father earlier accused that he was told by her daughter that the teacher who forced her to stand under the sun was covering her head with a scarf but when she complained that she was not feeling well, the same teacher told her, “nothing would happen in cold weather’s sun…,” which ultimately left Dipanwaita severely ill. "Is it cold weather? Their negligence has killed my daughter," said the bereaved father.
During treatment, it was revealed, Diwanwita’s one side was paralyzed and then she went into a coma-stage. Two days later, she breathed her last at GB hospital. Her tragic end has not only devastated her family but also sparked public outrage.
