Poor quality construction work at Gandacherra: Resentment brewing on deplorable condition of roads

AGARTALA, February 11 (TIWN): The constructions of 16 roads which were done by HLCC and few local contractors in the interior areas of Gandacherra Sub-Division have started collapsing. From the very beginning poor quality materials were used by the contractors and HLCC, alleged the locals of the area.
According to sources, out of the 16 roads 10 roads have started collapsing. Common people as well as the kids are suffering from the failure of the construction. While constructing the roads poor quality of bricks and concretes were used as a result the roads are now collapsing.
The people of the areas have objected with the use of poor quality materials but the HLCC and the contractors have avoided their objection. Not only this, while completing the work the local contractors on the basis of fear and political power tried to stop the interference of the people.
The maximum parts of the black top are eroded out day by day. In the coming monsoon the effected area will turn to pothole and it would become dangerous for plying the vehicles if these roads are not repaired soon, the source mentioned.
It is alleged that after all the happenings no Initiatives was undertaken by the concerned department for renovation, meanwhile widespread resentments are brewing among the people.
