AGARTALA, Sep 11 (TIWN): In a significant development, Congress leader Titon Paul and 17 others have been acquitted in the murder case of RSS worker Biltu Sinha. The case, registered in 2021, stemmed from an incident on August 14, 2019, where Biltu Sinha was severely injured in Bagma Bazar and later succumbed to his injuries at GB Hospital.
The accused included prominent Congress leaders, such as Titon Paul, the current President of Gomati District Congress Committee, and other party members who were part of the BJP at the time of the incident. After a prolonged trial, the Additional District Sessions Judge declared all the accused not guilty.
The defense was represented by High Court lawyers Piyush Biswas, Kajal Das, and Kuntal Das.
