AGARTALA, Sep 6 (TIWN): Demonetization and ED raids, seizing cashes from homes --- all these have given a clear message to the nation --- not to keep large quantity of cash as savings in homes and to secure them with banks.

Aiming to digitalizing the nation, Modi Govt also started banking services at zero balance for economically struggling households and women but now the state government's money appears not secure, as in a recent incident, Tripura Government's funds were taken out by a fraud group.

The allegation came in the media and now AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder has alleged, it's a fraud gang based in Hyderabad that is operating to loot people's money.

After the scammers took out a total of Rs. 16 crores of the Tripura Government fund, asked by the media, Majumder has blamed UCO Bank for negligence, expressing concerns over bank's consumers' security.

The mayor said the state government has issued a notice to the bank requesting it to return the money, as it was withdrawn without the government's knowledge. The Mayor confirmed that a Hyderabad-based fraud group did that, and he fears that the same is happening with common people.

However, the opposition does not agree with the claims that the government was scammed. CPI-M accused the state BJP Govt of looting AMC money, and held a protest in Agartala.
