AGARTALA, Aug 13 (TIWN): An 11-year-old minor girl was raped in Hapania area on Tuesday after she was allegedly kidnapped by the rape accused person.

Amtali police have arrested the accused Rajat Barman in connection with the rape incident.

According to the allegation, the minor girl was kidnapped by pressing on her mouth from her home by her neighbor, Rajat Barman (Praksh).

"My wife went to a neighbor's home to participate in a Padmapuran program. My mother and I were both in the home, but my daughter was sleeping in her room. Suddenly, she appeared before us and her body was shivering. She was crying! After listening to her, we rushed to his (Rajat Barman's) home, but his family members attacked us and helped him escape from there. Then my mother complained to the police station and then police arrested him. Today, police are visiting our home and also investigating the matter here," said the victim's father. 

"I want justice for my daughter. He kidnapped my daughter when she was sleeping. He took the opportunity of the program's loud noise and raped her," he added.

He took the opportunity when her family members were not at home and were attending a religious program outside. He took her to an abandoned area and raped her.

Her family complained immediately at the Amtali PS.

Accordingly police arrested the accused person, Rajat Barman. The matter is now under investigation.
