AGARTALA, Aug 11 (TIWN): (TIWN): In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the Shantir Bazar Rubber Dealer Association organized a blood donation drive at the Mukut Auditorium in Shantir Bazar. The event was attended by Minister Shukla Charan Noatia and other dignitaries.
The minister emphasized the importance of blood donation, highlighting it as a manifestation of humanity. He urged social and political organizations to come forward and play a significant role in addressing the state's blood shortage.
The association's state secretary, Subrata Saha, announced that similar programs would be organized in every subdivision in the coming days. He also mentioned the organization's past initiatives, including clothing donations and support for flood-affected people.
Notably, the rubber dealers expressed concerns about GST evasion by some traders and alleged harassment by certain clubs in Bishalgarh and Bishramganj, demanding excessive donations. They urged rubber dealers not to donate more than ?500 to any club.
During the event, 30 rubber dealers voluntarily donated blood, showcasing their commitment to social responsibility. The program was marked by widespread enthusiasm and community participation.
