SONAMURA, Aug 11 (TIWN): Sonamura police arrested Suchitra Debbarma, who is accused of killing her own daughter, Rimi Debbarma, who was just five months old. Sonamura PS OC – Tapas Das said the incident most likely happened due to an extramarital affair. “Such an incident is intolerable, and police are doing everything to make sure the actual incident comes out,” said Sonamura PS OC.

The shocking incident that has rocked Tripura has left everyone puzzled, as it tends to redefine a mother’s definition. A mother’s lap is the safest place for children, and here, a mother has been accused of killing her five-month-old daughter by allegedly pressing a pillow on her face. This disturbing incident happened at Rampada ADC village, under Sonamura subdivision.

According to allegations, Suchitra Debbarma, wife of Amit Debbarma, was allegedly having a love affair with a neighbor. This was the root cause of Amit Debbarma’s family’s daily fights. As a result of the daily arguments, Suchitra Debbarma allegedly killed her own daughter as an expression of taking revenge on her husband. Rimi Debbarma’s grandfather lodged the case against Suchitra Debbarma for killing his granddaughter.

Indeed, it’s not an isolated incident in Tripura, as just one day back, a police official was accused of killing his own daughter.
