Teliamura, Aug 6 (TIWN): The state government has taken action in response to the incident. A three-member committee has been constituted to investigate the death, and the SDM of Teliamura has been suspended with immediate effect. A show-cause notice has also been issued to the District Magistrate & Collector, Khowai.

The state government has sanctioned financial assistance of Rs. 6 lakh to the deceased's family, and Ministers Tinku Roy and Santana Chakma will visit the residence of the deceased to offer condolences. This information was posted by Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on his social media account.

Earlier on August 5 morning, Mihir Lal Debnath died after being trapped in his truck for over six hours near Teliamura Chakma Ghat. Despite being conscious and pleading for help, Debnath succumbed to his injuries due to alleged administrative negligence and delayed rescue efforts. The incident grabbed attention of the government when it went viral on social media and the netizens slammed administration for the catastrophic incident.
