AGARTALA, July 16 (TIWN): Giving cleanchit to Smart Meters, Tripura Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath blamed consumers who complained in media and also texted Minister Ratan Lal Nath showing his bill over Rs. 82,000 due to Smart meter. According to Nath, it's TSECL meter readers and the consumers who cheated the power department by not reporting the exact billing as stated on the meter. Nath said it was a mutual corruption between meter readers and the consumers. The logic the Minister claimed was that, as the consumer managed to avoid billing the full amount, now Smart Meter detected all the unpaid bills. Today, noticeably, Ratan Lal Nath was praising Tripura CM Dr. Manik Saha, which he rarely does.

MUST WATCH : Ratan Lal Nath accused the Consumer of "fraudulent activity" with Meter Reader.

Netizens trolled Ratan Lal Nath for his remark, and many are calling him a “thief” with remarks as ---- "ulta chor kotual ko datei....", "chorer maayer boro goal...." etc.

Nath is known to be closer to ex-CM Biplab Deb and called him as brilliant as Einstein, but today his unusual praise to the incumbent CM was noticeable.

Earlier during his tenure as Education Minister, TET question papers were leaked, and now, centering Smart meters' forceful imposition, once again public is doubting his intention.
