AGARTALA, February 10 (TIWN): A huge amount of electricity bills are in pending condition under State Government’s offices. According to the data available, upto December 2014, 54 crore 34lakhs 85 thousand rupees were pending. Besides that, in the year2012-13 and 2013-14, Tripura State Electricity Corporation had not granted any dividend to the State Government.40 percent of consumers are not paying the electricity bill .A greater part of the consumers hide themselves from paying the electricity bill and among them 1300 belongs to the Government offices and institutions. Apart from that 30 percent are using illegal hook lines which were cut off every day after coming in the notice of the TSECL. In other words, TSECL will never see in any profit in it lifetime under the stewardship of Power Minister Manik Dey.

For the first time, the smart system meter should be launched in the electrical subdivision I of Agartala. After that on the basis of the necessity, it should be extended.
In the meantime, tenders are called for and two agencies namely WIPRO and Tata Consultancy had applied for the tender which should be filled within few days.
