KHOWAI, July 8 (TIWN): DPG Anurag Dhankar visited Khowai on Tuesday, held a review meeting with the SP and other police officers there. The DGP was impressed by the activities of the Khowai police and other security forces who collaborated to move against the unlawful activities.

Addressing the media, the DGP said, “The meetings were centered on law and order issues. Today I am visiting Khowai district, where police are doing excellent work.”

“This year, the crime rate has decreased by more than 10% and in the case of NDPS cases, police are working with success. Last year, 18.6 lakhs of yaba tablets were seized, and this year we have already seized 18 lakhs,” he said.

“The total amount of seizure is about Rs. 20 crores this year, whereas last year it was 18 crores in total,” he added.

“So already we are ahead of 10 to 12% in comparison with last year,” the DGP said.
