Teliamura, July 7 (TIWN): In a significant breakthrough, the Teliamura Police Station's anti-narcotics operation led to the arrest of two youths with brown sugar worth over Rs 5 lakh in the Teliamura Railway Station area. Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid in the Trisha Bari area near the railway station and apprehended the suspects.
The arrested youths, identified as Dipayan Gope and Agrajit Gope from Mohanpur Ghospara area, were found in possession of brown sugar valued at over Rs 5 lakh. According to the police, the youths were behaving suspiciously, which led to a search and subsequent seizure of the contraband. The police claim that the accused were attempting to transport the brown sugar from Teliamura Railway Station to Mohanpur.
A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and the investigation is ongoing. The police are working to unravel the network behind the narcotics trade in the area.
The incident highlights the growing concern about narcotics trafficking in the region and the need for continued efforts to curb this menace. The Teliamura Police Station's proactive approach in this matter has sent a strong message to those involved in such activities.
