Udaipur, July 1 (TIWN): A heartbreaking incident occurred in Udaipur's Chandrapur area when a 62-year-old man, Jagabandhu Debnath, was killed after being hit by a train. The deceased hailed from Chandrapur's Shiltila area.
According to reports, Jagabandhu Debnath had gone to the jungle to collect herbs, as he did every day. On his way back home, he sat down to rest near the railway bridge adjacent to the Peratia Forest Office. Unfortunately, he was sitting on the railway tracks when the train hit him, resulting in his death.
Locals witnessed the incident and informed the Udaipur GRP police station and railway station staff. The family members were subsequently informed and identified the body.
The family revealed that Jagabandhu Debnath had been suffering from age-related health issues for a long time and often wandered onto the railway tracks. Locals would often find him and escort him home.
The Udaipur GRP police station and Garji police station officials arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation into the incident. The news of the tragic incident has sent shockwaves in the area, leaving the community in grief and mourning. The authorities are working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
