AGARTALA, June 27 (TIWN): Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Friday, at the distribution of offer of appointment program under Education and Health and Family Welfare Department said at Muktadhara auditorium stated Tripura unemployment rate is now 1.7% which is much lower than the national unemployment rate and the state is now in a better position in comparison with 2018-19 employment data.

“Tripura's unemployment rate is only 1.7%," said CM Dr. Manik Saha. "These data show we are on the correct path and delivering our promise that we promised to them."

“Today, a total of 222 candidates are being appointed to become a part of the government. To date, you (newly appointed candidates) were going before the tables of government officials, but today you would sit at those tables. When you are in that position, remember your days and don’t forget the difficulties that you have faced before coming to the position ! So in future, when in the same way, people would come to you to talk, it is expected that you would do your work by keeping those days in mind,” said CM.

“Government job is not the only option. If we look at the outsourcing jobs  -- over 5,700 outsourcing jobs were distributed. Because giving direct jobs is not always possible and outsourcing helps the process,” said CM.

“Today, in government and in the private sector, 2987 people have been appointed in security and other posts,” he added.

“In 2024-25 shows 305 persons were appointed under the national career services,” said Dr. Saha.

“As per Govt of India’s Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation survey, in 2018-19 Tripura’s unemployment rate was above the national rate. Tripura’s unemployment rate was 10% whereas the national unemployment rate was 5.8%. In 2023-24 Tripura unemployment rate was 1.7% and the national rate was 3.3%,” CM cited.

“These data show we are on the correct path and delivering our promise that we promised to them,” said CM.
