AGARTALA, February 9 (TIWN): “A section of political parties and the leaders having close links with the banned NLFT outfits here in Tripura, INPT and the IPFT are the two regional parties of the state has an unswerving contact with the NLFT militants”, claimed Minister Badal Chowdhury today during the day-2 of assembly budget session. However,INPT General Secretary Jagadish Debbarma while talking to TIWN in this regard reacted sharply saying that it is a trend of the Left front govt. to cheat, misguide people of the state ahead of the ADC election. Minister Badal Chowdhury today addressing second day of the assembly session claimed that a section of political parties of the state have direct links with the banned NLFT militants camped in some places namely Gandacherra, Dhamcherra, Dhalai, Kanchanpur and others. Chowdhury further mentioned that some leaders here in the state often make an unswerving contact with the NLFT militants in the neighbouring states of the North East and Bangladesh before elections here in Tripura. Adding to that,Badal Chowdhury said that the state govt. has proof about direct links of the IPFT with the NLFT militants.

But State Govt doesn't have any proof about the INPT’s link with the NLFT.

However the opposition legislator Ratan Lal Nath protested the statements of Minister Badal Chowdhury.

Later regarding the statement that Minister Badal Chowdhury made ahead of the ADC poll here in the state, INPT General; Secretary Jagadish Debbarma talking to TIWN today reacted sharply on it CPIM led State Govt singing old song every time ahead of any kind of elections here in the state. “The state govt. has failed to prove the INPT’s direct link with the banned NLFT militants till today; therefore there is enough power with law and order with the state govt. to take action against any individuals who have a link with the militant groups”, said Debbarma.

However the statement of Minister Badal Chowdhury today during the assembly session must have triggered a series of clutter among a section of political parties ahead of the upcoming ADC election in the state.
