AGARTALA, April 28 (TIWN): “Police are not taking action against BJP social media users. Don’t play partial roles, as in future you have to give answers,” opposition leader Jitendra Chowdhury told North District SP via a press meet referring a recent attack on CPI-M which was allegedly organized by BJP and police’s failure to take action against anyone in connection to that incident. Jitendra Chowdhury also stressed how police are dealing with social media posts related to violating contents, alleging, police are failing to play a neutral role by reaching beyond political identities.

“This is a time, everyone should stay united and I would suggest that they should refrain from making the Kashmir issue complicated on internet, but when it’s about taking action, police do not take any action against the BJP members even after they openly target a particular religious community,” said Chowdhury.

“Retired teacher Sajal Chakraborty was arrested for a social media post, but what did he wrote? He wrote just like Pulwama after-attack situation, it’s now the same situation in India which is being misused by the BJP. Today, using the Pahalgam terror attack, BJP workers are directly abusing a particular community, but police do not arrest them and do not impose those charges against them,” said Chowdhury.
