AGARTALA, April 21 (TIWN): Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday, while addressing the Tripura indigenous people’s auspicious Garia puja festival at Swami Vivekananda stadium in Agartala, appealed for more unity, peace, and properity. The chief minister assured the indigenous community to work at his best to uphold their tradition, culture through this government. CM named dozens of indigenous dances’ names, and promised to secure and restore the indigenous traditions.
Dr. Saha appealed for unity in the state among tribals and non-tribals while addressing the Garia puja festival organized at the Swami Vivekananda stadium in Agartala.
“Sometimes, division erupts amongst us ! Some groups try to divide the people. A divide and rule logic works in their thought process. Such people existed earlier and are doing the same now. But we need to come out of such thinking,” said Dr. Saha.
“We did not know about so many instruments the indigenous population has had. To preserve that, we have kept Rs. 3 crores in 2025 budget,” CM said emphasising on Tripura BJP Govt’s vision for indigenous development.
“Our Govt’s efforts to save the tradition of the indigenous population to continue. We will do our best to save all the art and culture of our tradition. 122 events were organized by ICA, aiming to celebrate the culture, and over 10,000 artists participated in such events, and 300 artists were sent outside the state,” said CM.
