JACC returnees outfits held press conference on 6 points charter of demands

AGARTALA, February 8 (TIWN): The Joint Action Coordination Committee (JACC) pre-98 and post-98 Returnees outfits group today held a press conference at Agartala Press Club with 6 points charter of demands.
The demands include of disposing off all police cases and pending cases at the court at the earliest, to restore agri-based under BRP scheme (Power Tiller, Kamco Co. only), to provide benefit to the expired or deceased returnees family under BRP and IAY Housing Scheme along with others.
Talking to TIWN JACC General Secretary Achai Khasrang Jamatia said that the committee strongly protests the harassment of the returnees outfits in the name of re-verification in district and block level.
“All the pending cases in the police stations and courts against the returnees outfits should be withdrawn at the earliest”, said Jamatia.
However it is mentionable here that earlier the agitators of the JAC led by Assistant Secretary of JAC sat for the hunger strike in support of eight point charter of demands including provision of rehabilitation to them. The hunger strike demanded for houses under government scheme, to provide education to the children of the returnees in English medium schools.
