Kailasahar, February 7 (TIWN): Unfenced area of Shilpara at Kailasahar emerges as a problem for the people in the question of security. About 315 mt area with 30mt area along Check Post remains to unfenced. Due to this, the incident of theft, insurgency, illegal export-import grows at a rapid speed.

It is to be, mention that, Tripura shares an 856-km border with Bangladesh and some parts of the border area remain unfenced.

The hilly terrain and dense forests make the border porous and vulnerable to illegal migrants and intruders crossing over. In the meantime DM of Unakoti, Mrinal Kanti Nath and SDM, Ajit Shukla Das had visited the site today and inspected the overall situation.

In the recently concluded DM-DC level meeting held at Agartala, DM of Unakoti had raised the problems of Shil Para and it was decided that the problem will be resolved soon.
In the upcoming DIG level meeting likely to be held on February 11th, will also focus on this issue. But the main problem is the illegal migration of Bangladeshi nationals to India.
However, Concerned over the growing anti-Indian activities across the border, the Centre has adopted multiple arrangements to ensure effective border management along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Other than that the second problem which is highlighted is that about 16 families are residing in the 100mt unfenced area out of that 315mt.
Their demand is to cover only 30mt as, if full 100mt. is unfenced, then they had to pack their bag and Baggages.
It is to be mentioned that, about 10mt. area along check post falls under zero point according to the mutual understanding of India and Bangladesh.
They also demands to fence like this, so that their families save from an off ward situation.
